AIR8 FAQS – AIR8 air purifiers frequently asked questions.

AIR8 FAQs about the benefits of owning an air purifier
What are the most common problems with air quality?

We breathe on a daily basis microparticles that are harmful to our health. These are a mixture of particulate matter (PM) and toxic gases that act in conjunction with biological agents, such as viruses, dust mites, and bacteria.

This is not a problem unique to exterior spaces. Our interior spaces also suffer from it. Partially due the air that we introduce from the streets every time we open a door or ventilate. Also, because of construction materials, household appliances, pets, synthetic fibers, and other materials that decay through time and produce pollution. These fine particles, Volatile Organic Compounds, dust, and allergens remain suspended in the air for hours, and natural ventilation is often unable to eliminate them.

Is it convenient to have an air purifier in my home or office?

Of course. According to data from the WHO, the air we breathe in our homes and workplaces is more contaminated that the air found on the streets. To put it in perspective: every year, 3.2 million people die prematurely from respiratory illnesses due indoor air pollution.

What is an air purifier used for? How does it benefit me?

This is one of the most frequent AIR8 FAQs. It is a great ally for your health. The hermetic environments where we live, and work, accumulate all kinds of toxic particles and polluting gases. These include nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and particulate matter (PM). Passive ventilation is not enough to help. It may cool the environment, but air currents introduce some of the outside pollution into your environment. An air purifier will help you keep your spaces clean and hygienic.

Aren’t air purifiers and dehumidifiers the same thing?

No. Dehumidifiers condense ambient humidity. They absorb dust mites, bacteria and some toxic particles in the process, but only superficially since their only function is to control humidity levels in a room.

Air purifiers, on the other hand, do a much deeper cleaning of the environment, as that is their sole objective. They use three and four filters, in addition to other technologies, to remove a wide range of contaminants. From particulate matter of various sizes to pathogens, viruses, dust mites, pollen, and concentrations of gases that are toxic to your health.

Does that mean an air filter is good for my allergies?

Of course. Pollution from living and working spaces is partly responsible for some of the allergies we suffer from.

The levels of dust, pollen, and other irritants vary depending on the season of the year, but they are always present. According to certain studies, an air purifier is a good tool against the most common allergies.

Does it help those of us who suffer from asthma?

Yes. Because air purifiers filter out impurities in the environment, along with all kinds of chemical and biological agents, they significantly reduce events that can trigger an asthmatic attack.

I have pets, will an air purifier also take care of dander from their fur?

Yes, it will. Animal dander is also a component in the generation of allergies. An air purifier is an efficient barrier against this common problem with those who have dogs, cats, or any other type of furry pet.

I have been told that natural ventilation does not eliminate dust mites…

Dust mites, like other biological, chemical, and physical agents, are difficult to eliminate just by opening the windows of your home or office. An air purifier equipped with HEPA filters, on the other hand, will be an excellent tool to eliminate them from your environments.

What are HEPA filters and what are they used for?

Their name comes from the acronym for High Efficiency Particular Air, and it is a quality and efficiency standard for air filters. It guarantees that such filters capture 99.97% of polluting particles. They were created in the United States during World War II to protect engineers working in the toxic environments in which the first atomic bombs were created.

Today, we can find HEPA filters in the most demanding industries, such as pharmaceuticals and aerospace. Also in hospitals, homes, wellness, and sports centers.

What makes them so efficient?

Their design. A single HEPA filter is made of intertwined glass fibers, creating a maze of microscopic strands. These then trap all fine particles of up to 0.001 microns, which, due their minuscule size, can easily penetrate our bodies.

Once captured, these particles stick to the walls of the filter, where they remain trapped with no way out.

So, can an AIR8 purifier protect me from Covid 19?

Yes, it can. The SARS-CoV-2 virus’ size ranges between 0.1 and 0.2 microns. Plus, it travels through the air in even larger droplets, making it an easy prey for our air purifiers.

AIR8 FAQs about our solutions
How do AIR8 air purifiers work?

This is another of the most frequent AIR8 FAQs. The air around the device is absorbed in by a silent fan. Once inside, the air passes through 4 or 6 stages of filtration, depending on the model. These include pre-filtration, HEPA filtration, UV-GI light, Active Carbon filter, Cold Catalyst and an ionization system. In this way, just one of our purifiers not only eliminates up to 99.97% of polluting gases and particles, but also sterilizes the air from pathogens and viruses, such as Covid-19. Read more here about how you can have affordable clean air for your home.

What does the UV-GI light do?

It sterilizes 99.99% of the particles absorbed by that the device. This prevents any microorganisms accumulated on the threads of the HEPA filter from multiplying. It is a technology that complies with all European Union directives. It only comes into contact with the filter itself, making it very safe for use.

What does the Active Carbon filter do?

It works in conjunction with the HEPA filter for deeper purification. While HEPA technology is responsible for filtering air pollution, Active Carbon removes Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), as well as bad odors.

Volatile organic compounds?

These are chemical substances that turn into vapors or gases at room temperature, which makes them very harmful to our health. They contain carbon and can be found in paints, furniture, building materials, office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.), adhesives, etc.

What does the Cold Catalyst do?

It is a system that absorbs and decomposes formaldehyde, benzene, and ammonia gas, as well as small dust particles.

What does the ionization process do?

Uses negative ions to remove particles from the air, reducing odors. According to some studies, negative ions inhibit viruses and bacteria.

In what environments have AIR8 purifiers been used?

Due to their efficiency, you can find our air purifiers in various medical centers, offices, stores, and restaurants, as well as colleges and universities in Europe.

Are they easy to control?

You have a variety of options to control our devices

-Touch screen control panel
-Remote control
-App

Each one has extra functions, such as timer, alarms, and display of important parameters to know the quality of the air in your environment. They come with a user manual, in addition to having the support of our technical team.

Do AIR8 purifiers only filter superfine particles?

No. They also deal with other contaminants. From PM2.5 and PM10 particles, to pathogens and viruses, as well as dust, hair, animal dander, concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, etc. Thanks to the joint work of HEPA filtration and other technologies, a single AIR8 model eliminates 99.97% of environmental pollution.

What are PM2.5 and PM10 particles?

It is the classification, in microns, of particulate matter found in the air. It is not about a specific contaminant, but about the size of the particle of a certain physical, chemical, or biological element. Due to their size, PM2.5 particles can easily enter the human body and even reach the bloodstream.

Are the units tested?

Yes, the technology applied to our systems has been extensively tested. Moreover, every product that leaves our factory has a unique quality code.

All the AIR8 systems are:

– EC certified technologies
– Compliant with EU directives
– EN 1822 standardised
– ISO certified
– Equipped with TÜV certified HEPA filters

What is the difference between the various AIR8 models?

Their CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate). That is the number of cubic meters of clean air produced per hour. Depending on your purification needs, we have the ideal model for you
